Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ourbigwedding.day ("the service"), operated by Lee James Apps ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By purchasing a wedding hub or using the service as a guest, you agree to these terms.
1. What the service provides
ourbigwedding.day provides couples with a personalised wedding hub on a subdomain (e.g. yourname.ourbigwedding.day) that includes:
- A guest-facing website with wedding details, RSVP collection, menu choices, dietary tracking, and private messaging
- A couple admin panel to manage guests, events, menus, seating, exports, and settings
- Email-based invitation delivery and guest authentication
- Catering exports in PDF, CSV, and HTML formats
The service is provided on an "as is" basis. We work hard to keep it reliable but cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
2. Pricing and payment
- The service costs a one-off fee of £49.99 (or the price shown at the time of purchase), paid via Stripe at signup
- There are no monthly fees, no subscriptions, and no hidden charges
- The price includes everything — unlimited guests, unlimited events, all features, email support
- VAT is included in the price where applicable
3. What you get (and for how long)
- Your wedding hub is live from the moment you sign up until 6 months after your wedding date
- During this time, you and your guests have full access to all features
- After the 6-month post-wedding window, the hub is archived. You can request a full data export at any time before or after archiving
- We reserve the right to delete archived data after a further 6 months (12 months post-wedding total), unless you request otherwise
4. Refunds
- You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not yet sent invitations to guests via the platform
- If invitations have been sent (i.e. the service has been substantially used), refunds are at our discretion

- Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days
5. Your responsibilities
As the couple (admin):
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter (names, dates, venue details, etc.)
- You are responsible for how you use the guest data you collect (RSVPs, dietary info, etc.) — including sharing it with your venue/caterer
- You must not use the service for anything unlawful, abusive, or unrelated to a genuine wedding or celebration
- You must keep your admin password secure and not share it with unauthorised people
As a guest:
- You must not attempt to access hubs you haven't been invited to
- You must not abuse the messaging system (spam, harassment, etc.)
- You must not attempt to brute-force PINs or circumvent rate limiting
6. Data and privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- The couple is the data controller for their guests' data. We are the data processor.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
- Guest data (including dietary and allergy information) is processed solely for the purpose of managing the wedding
- All data is stored on UK-based servers and transmitted over HTTPS
7. Data ownership and portability
- Your data belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership over the content you create (guest lists, stories, messages, etc.)
- You can export your data at any time via the Export tab in your admin (PDF, CSV, or HTML)
- If you want a complete raw data export (all JSON files), email us and we'll provide it within 7 days
- On deletion or archiving, we remove all data from our servers. We do not keep backups of individual tenant data beyond the retention period stated in our Privacy Policy
8. Intellectual property
- The ourbigwedding.day platform (code, design, branding) is owned by Lee James Apps
- You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for the duration of your hub's lifetime
- Content you create (your story, messages, guest data) remains yours
9. Availability and support
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. Occasional maintenance or outages may occur
- Email support is provided by a real person (Lee) at hello@ourbigwedding.day
- We aim to respond to support requests within 1 business day
- We do not provide phone support
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service (£49.99)
- We are not responsible for data loss caused by factors outside our control (hardware failure, natural disaster, etc.), though we take reasonable precautions to prevent it
- We are not responsible for how the couple uses, shares, or exports guest data once it leaves our platform
11. Termination
- By you: you can request that your hub be deactivated and your data deleted at any time by emailing us
- By us: we reserve the right to suspend or terminate a hub if it's being used in violation of these terms (e.g. abusive content, illegal activity). We'll contact you first unless the violation is severe
- On termination, we will delete all associated data within 30 days unless you request an export
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change. For significant changes, we'll notify active customers by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
